About the Summer Series

Engaging with a client's family can be more complicated than what you learned in grad school. The Training Institute at Washburn Center invites you to the first annual Summer Series for clinicians! This 4-part training series will highlight skills, tools and insights to effectively engage with the diversity of families in our community. 

Participants may register for individual sessions, or for the full training series at a discounted price!

About Laine Mohnkern

Laine Mohnkern currently serve as the Mental Health Supervisor at Reclaim, having worked in LGBT issues for over 15 years. They are state trained in infant mental health, and trauma trained under multiple modalities, striving to provide care in a playful, imaginative, connected, and out of the box approach. They have been passionate about diversity, social justice, healing and education. They believe that communication, continued practice and hope will continue to benefit areas they are committed to and they strive to bring these commitments and beliefs to their therapeutic work, advisory practices, training and writing.

 

About this Session

Participants of this session will gain a greater understanding of trans identities, gender-non-conforming identities, how to do care with these identities in mind, and how to work with families who may come to this from multiple viewpoints.  Participants will receive a hand out on language, a way to practice pronouns, engage in activities to assist in their own reflection, and come away with ideas on how to provide care to client and families.

Cancellation policy:

Full refunds will be issued for cancellations at least one week prior to the training. Cancellations or changes less than one week before the training will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
