About the Summer Series

Engaging with a client's family can be more complicated than what you learned in grad school. The Training Institute at Washburn Center invites you to the first annual Summer Series for clinicians! This 4-part training series will highlight skills, tools and insights to effectively engage with the diversity of families in our community. 

Participants may register for individual sessions, or for the full training series at a discounted price!

About Dr. Hoy

Judy Hoy, LICSW, DSW is a clinical social worker, educator and mental health consultant with over 25 years of practice experience working with individuals, couples and families. Dr. Hoy has a particular interest in with supporting families whose lives have been disrupted by the experience of trauma.

 

About this Session

Participants of this session will:

1. Understand the importance of engaging families in mental health treatment

2. Identify common barriers to family engagement

3. Assess readiness for family interventions

4. Manage impasses that may arise when working with families

5. Learn interventions that create and sustain family engagement

6. Appreciate the strengths and needs of diverse family systems
